The two Chinese brothers Raymond and Thomas Kwok are sons of Kwok Tak Seng, the man who founded Sun Hung Kai Properties, the largest property developer in Hong Kong. Thomas is the youngest of three brothers while Raymond is the second-born son. Thomas studied at London Business School and Imperial College while Raymond received his B.S. at Cambridge University and his MBA at Harvard Business School. The Kwok brothers inherited their father’s conglomerate when he passed away in 1990. Together, they are the third wealthiest people in Hong Kong and Greater China Region.
Today, they run their father’s conglomerate as managing directors and joint-chairmen. Raymond is involved in companies outside of their family business; he’s Chairman for SUNeVisionHoldings Limited and SmarTone Telecommunications Holdings Limited. Their estimated net worth in 2010 was $17 billion.
The two brothers were arrested by the Independent Commission Against Corruption on bribery charges in March 2012. In December of 2014, Thomas Kwok was convicted of conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office. His brother Raymond was cleared of all charges.
